my disease managed to break free eentully, it just took so long.
In a review I accidently wrote that "kidney effect" had I typo; I actually meant "kidney failure effect."

All the ports in the world got closed, but one little ship was stuck with no place to go. He tugged around from closed port to closed port for the rest of the game, just floating aimlessly in the Atlantis. Eventually you'd think the crew would die from... I don't know... hunger?
Still could never hit Madagascar (but you'd think the population would die out from storms, floods, earthquakes and other disasters eventually). Also, Greenland seems to never shut down its hospitals, even when the rest of the world does.
And why did the whole world shut down every school, hospital, airport, public transportation, and shipport in the world BEFORE my virus had any symptoms whatsoever? It couldn't even make you sneeze or sweat yet.
It was just really contagious.
Poo.
And, with only Tier One Symptoms, and a lethality rating of less than a quarter of the bar, I wiped out the entire world in less than half a year?
Interesting.
At least you didn't label most of Asia "Europe".
But this time you split for example South America in only three countries.
It's a bit narrow-minded, okay, but I mean: You obviously have access to the internet, so what holds you back from typing "world map" into Google Images or any other image search engine?
As mentioned in my review, this is a great game, but it just doesn't make any sense why the whole world suddenly panics when a disease that has no symptoms, isn't in the least bit fatal, and is completely invisible (even as a parasite). I can't tell you how frustrating it is to waste 20+ minutes waiting to evolve the virus, only to have Greenland and Madagascar say, "Fuck you" by closing their borders.
That's how I survived in the original: go dark, and when the whole world is infected, attack! Did you purposelly make it this way, or does the game check for number of infected people and countries?

Can you please do something about the frustratingly slow buildup of points and the unrealistic part of how quickly the regions shutdown their borders and how that apparently stops insects and airborn viruses?
'Grats on the monthly award! The game certainly deserves it.
I must say that Pandemic 2 is a great success, but there is a lot of room for improvement; for example, an infected boat travels South, past Africa, aproaches Madagascar, you hold your breath since it's the last region to infect, and then, suddenly, it changes course! The slightly higher chance of a boat getting to Madagascar in the 1.16 version is not enough!
Also, the goverment does silly things when it comes to a disease, even a symptomless disease that has infected a few regions. HOW THE HECK DO THEY KNOW IT'S A NEW DISEASE WHEN THERE IS NO SYMPTOM???
Many faults, a dissapointment, but, overall, it's a decent game.
